ORANGE PARK AMATEUR RADIO CLUB  MINUTES

MARCH 2017

The OPARC  March 2017 meeting was called to order by the President, Don Anhslog, and guests were welcomed and introductions were made.  Jerry Tabor welcomed new members Mary Ent (W1ENT) and Robert Mounts (KG5QLD).

A motion was made and passed to approve the minutes from the February 2017 meeting.

Mark Fields gave the Treasurer’s report as follows:

Checking – $  884.76

Savings –   $4,185.64

TOTAL –   $5,841.20

Ted Jahn gave updates on the repeaters and QRP:

Repeaters- Ted will be meeting next Thursday to talk to Rich Ward at the Orange Park Hospital. Tests are working on Wi-Fi.

QRP meets at the Orange Park High School, Ted Jahn’s former classroom on the 2nd and last Saturday’s of the month.

CLAY ARES – Adrian Gray.  St. Johns River Cleanup March 18, 2017, at 7:00 AM.  Anyone interested in helping out, please contact Greg Fitcher.

The Clay County EOC is donating equipment to Clay ARES.

TOYS FOR  TOTS – Barry Brown, from the Marine Corps detachment in Middleburg, FL, spoke regarding the need for donations.  He emphasized the need for toys for the age group 10 – 12, both girls and boys.  The donation deadline is November.

PURCHASE OF WIRELESS MICROPHONE – A motion was made and passed by the club to look into the purchase of a wireless microphone for club use.  Funds for this purchase up to $210.00.

OLD BUSINESS –  The trailers need to be replaced or repaired before Field Day.  Discussion was held as to how to go about this.  Don Anhslog appointed a committee with Scott Roberts, Bob Meadows and Chris White to investigate options.

NEW BUSINESS – By-laws change.

Scott Roberts announced that this had been announced in January, re-announced in February, and posted to the club website.  The amendment is below:

AMENDMENT 1 – This amendment supersedes paragraph 9.01 in the Orange Park Amateur Radio Club Bylaws dated August 17, 2012.

– The President shall appoint two responsible members to audit all financial records and property inventories of the Club.  Such audits shall be conducted during the month of January each year.

There was a motion made and passed to accept this amendment.

Bob Meadows made a motion which was passed by the club to reimburse Jim & Kasey for coffee and water supplies.  This reimbursement is $10/month.
