ORANGE PARK AMATEUR RADIO CLUB  MINUTES
NOVEMBER 2017

The OPARC November 2017 meeting was called to order by the President, Don Anhslog, and guests were welcomed, and introductions were made, and new members welcomed.

A motion was made and passed to approve the minutes of the October 2017 meeting.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Checking –  $   773.39
Savings –    $2,237.66
Cash –        $   505.30
            TOTAL –      $3,516.35

REPEATERS:  The repeater is still at Obie’s house which was flooded during Hurricane Irma.  A workshop is needed to finish getting it together.  A vote was held by the Board to install it without WiresX.  A control method is still needed.  The tone will be activated when the new repeater goes online.

TESTING:  Please contact Richard Miller if you’re interested in testing.  It will be December 9, 2017, at the Orange Park  Public Library.

QRP:  Join us the second and last Saturdays of the month.  The meeting is held at the Fleming Island Public Library.

ARES REPORT:  The most recent event was the Orange Park Fall Festival which had a good turnout.

Don’t forget the ARES Christmas party December 5, 2017, at Journey Church, Jacksonville, FL.  It will be a catered BBQ and you can pay at the door.

Also, Joe Bassett, a member of Clay ARES participated in ARRL HAMS to Puerto Rico in support of those needing assistance due to Hurricane Maria.

RAY COOK:  Training for Winlink will begin on Mondays for learning how to do packet.  He will come to your home if you are interested.

TOYS FOR TOTS:  Jim Winfrey and Kasey Tate are to take the toys to the person in charge of the program.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2018:

As there were no nominations for new officers, a motion was made, seconded and a vote held to keep the current slate of officers.  They are:

Don Ahnslog – President
Scott Roberts – Vice President

Mark Fields – Treasurer
Kasey Tate – Secretary

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Christmas Party – December 21, 2017, at the Golden Corral on Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.

NEW BUSINESS:

There is a group that wants to investigate the options in using simple antennas and make a report to the club by March 30, 2018.
