ORANGE PARK AMATEUR RADIO CLUB JULY 2018 MEETING MINUTES – AMENDED
The Orange Park Amateur Radio Club July 2018 meeting was held at the Orange Park High School and was opened by Don Ahlskog. Introductions were made, visitors were welcomed, and birthdays were recognized. A motion was made to approve the minutes as posted, it was seconded, and the motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Cash – $ 575.45
Savings – $2,237.66
Checking – $ 748,80
A motion was made, voted on and passed to approve report.
ARES UPDATE: Adrian Gray not present at the July meeting. The next meeting will be the first Tuesday in August at the Pinewood Christian Academy.
Need to remember there are a lot of new call signs. Please be patient with the new HAMS.
QRP – Second and last Saturday of each month, 1:00 PM. Fleming Island Public Library.
REPEATERS: One down and going back to Yaesu. One repeater belonging to Obe is now in and working. A motion was made, discussed and seconded that Obe should be reimbursed for this repeater in the amount of $600.00.
ORANGE PARK TRAILER:
We need a new place to park them as Greg Fitcher is moving. If you know of an available space, please contact Scott Roberts or Jim Winfrey.
AUGUST MEETING:
AUCTION!!!! If you have any big ticket items you’d like to auction, please take a picture and send to Scott Roberts before the Auction.
FIELD DAY 2019
Training for Field Day 2019 will begin in September, 2018. Chuck Helverson is the new chairman.
The new radio classes provided the opportunity for 6 new HAMS.
There was data lost from the first 5 hours of being on air due to a computer crash. Problems will happen and we need to learn how to solve them on the fly.
Scott Roberts is the “go to” person for any building problems next year with the building (ie, AC).
There are new filters being built by Jim Winfrey.
Some concerns: Gasoline next to generator. Operators need to be coherent.
